Here are a few examples of my recent instrument restoration work that illustrates the care and attention that is needed in bring antique instruments back to life.

Neapolitan Bowl Back Mandolin

Mandolin came into the shop with significant cracks on the top and on the bowl itself. The machine heads were rusted with several buttons missing.

Using sound hole clamp to glue cleats down the length of the crack on the inside of the instrument.

Once crack repair completed, applied gun stock oil finish to the top and use a polyurethane finish on the mandolin’s bowl back
