GIBSON LG1 Vintage 1966

This is a vintage guitar that was owned initially by a working musician in the US. Since being brought to the UK in the 1980’s it has been carefully stored and has not been played. This guitar is in excellent condition for it’s age and a Luthier has undertaken some minor restoration work (tuner bushings replaced and “drop fill’s” to some minor dings on the top). I have stored the guitar in it’s case with a Hygrometer to monitor and maintain a balanced level of “Relative Humidity”(45%-55% RH).

This 1966 Gibson LG1 is in excellent condition for a guitar that is fifty five years old. The LG Series were produced by Gibson as “entry level” guitars but were, nevertheless made with quality raw materials, hardware and built with high standards of craftsmanship and this LG1 is a fine example of this. The original “Ford Edsel” (plastic) bridge was replaced at some point with a Rosewood bridge. The guitar has aged well with lacquer checking only adding to the guitar’s natural charm.
